Well, he will need a transfusion if it continues to drop.
The Oncologist possibly can order medication to increase plts count, i.e. Neumega.
I don't know of any diet or food for this.
What has the physician/Oncologist recommended?
Count is 39. Not low enough for transfusion. not sure what all is in the chemo, it's my dad. Think it has periwinkle and some tree bark? roots? I have to get the paper. He has non-hodgensons it came back from 7 yrs ago and changed. The chemo isn't killing it. We're doing the green juice and juices.
I don't know anything diet wise that will or that is garanteed to increase plts count.
What has your physician recommended?
It is always a given chemo will knock them down, but hopefully you body will compensate. If not, your Oncologist may need to order plts transfusions and/or medication to boost plts count.
My I ask what is your chemo regimen? What has been ordered?
How low is your plts count?
