Lump at back of throat...

Hi, Ive had this small lump at the back of my throat I dont know how long its been there but I just saw it recently. I went to the doc and told her about it she didnt seem concerned and I asked her if she could look at my throat, she did have a look and said it was normal and that swellings or lumps were normal in the throat....?? If I open my mouth really wide I can see it right at the back, it hasnt grown and if I stick my finger all the way in I mcan feel it and it doesnt hurt. Why would the doctor say it was normal, are some lumps normal in the throat? I just need some advice on what I should do? Dont know if going back to the doc is gonna help, she might think Im crazy....
Im concerned cause I m a smoker, ive smoked for 4 years and now Im 22.

Doesn't everyone have lumps at the back of the throat? If the doctor has cleared you, forget it.

Have you considered going to an ENT doctor? I too am a smoker and for a while kept having the feeling that something was stuck in my throat.  This went on for a couple months, so, the ENT doctor put a camera down my nose (uncomfortable and tolerable, made my eyes water) and checked out my throat and went quite a ways down.  

Maybe make an appointment with someone that specializes in the throat.
