There is not pain, and the size varies each day, it gets smaller then it may get larger but it usually stays very small. it blends in with the skin so there is no redness or swelling.
Is the lump causing any pain, swelling, or tenderness on your knee?
It is possible that the lump is a beginning localized infection like an abscess. It could start as a small lump that can eventually increase in size in several days. There can be associated pain, redness, swelling, and tenderness on the area involved.
Other possible conditions that can present with a lump on the knee include a prepatellar bursitis and infrapatellar bursitis. Both conditions can be secondary to repeated trauma to the tissue overlying the patella.
It would be best to seek consult with your doctor.
Take care.
