Lung & lymph node cancer

Husband's lung cancer was diagnosed and very small.  Considered surgery but in checking to determine if a surgery candidate, lymph node cancer was found.  He wants to enjoy what life he has left & doesn't want chemo.  This was in Mar. 2010.  He now has severe shoulder pain radiating down under the armpit all on the left side--the cancerous side.  Pet Scans set for 8/10.  Might his pain be from the lymph node cancer?  Lung cancer has only enlarged slightly.  They have him on Vicaden (sp?) and have prescribed Morphine patches.

Vicadin is offering some relief; however, morphine patches have been rx.  Lung doc said lung cancer has only increased in size slightly.  Pet Scan tomorrow to check lyphm cancer-see dr. on the 12th.  Thanks for your input.

I am certain the pain is connected to the lymph node.  Sounds like the Lung CA is the primary that spread to the lymph nodes.

His is pain controlled on the current medications prescribed?
