How long does it take to get biopsy results when needle aspiration isway biopsy is taken?

A long biopsy is usually indicated in suspected cases of sarcoidosis, pulmonary fibrosis, lung cancer etc. Lung biopsy results are usually ready within 2 to 4 working days. In certain infections like tuberculosis it may take several weeks to get results from tissue samples .The results of lung biopsy should be correlated with your past health, physical examination, and the results of other tests like X-ray chest and CT scan.
