Metastatic Brain cancer

My mother in law is suffering from metastatic brain cancer. she has had Non Hodgkin's lymphoma in the past, and it has now metastatised to the brain, it is B cell type, I want to know if it is curable, she has had surgery, 10 brain radiations and 3 chemotherapies, total 8 chemotherapies have been suggested by doctor, she is being given Mabthera for chemotherapy. I want you to pls guide me through this as people have been saying that its not curable and she will not live for more than 6 months even with the treatment,

thanks Tina,
but i ve always heard since she has gotten this disease that brain cancer is still curable but metastatic brain cancer has no chance and the mean survival is 6 months, Also people say that Mabthera is a very painful medicine and we are torturing her by giving this treatment as it will anyways not save her, it very demotivating to hear such things but want to get an honest opinion if its curable...

thanks

Hi Shubhal, I'm sorry I can't tell you how long she will live, it's up to the progression of the cancer and the higher powers that be.  It is a grim picture, but it sounds like the doctors are doing all they can to help her and save her.  If the treatments work she could go into remission, if her body fights it, she could go into remission, and if the higher powers that be decide it's not her time, it won't be her time.  But the reality is it is a grim picture.  I will keep her and you in my prayers and hope for the best for both of you.
