I have had persistent mucus in my stool for the last 4 months. First episode I passed mucus on it's own and was advised after stool and blood testing that it was a bacterial infection. 4 weeks later it returned except this time mucus wrapped around the stool - did the same tests with the same results. Now the mucus has returned - not in as great quantity but it is visible. No other symptoms such as blood, consitpation, diharrea or weight loss. Saw a doctor today who has refered me for a colonoscopy in the next couple of weeks. I am very anxious about it. Have a young family and all that entails. Appreciate some insights.
