New treatments

Hello I had a question about a new treatment my mom is convinced will cure her breast cancer. It's called Light Induced Enhanced Selective Hyperthermia. I can't find any information about except from their website. Have you heard of it? My mom is extremely gullible, so I want to research this new treatment myself. I don't want her throw her money away on a fraud.

Thank you

Hi.  "Light Induced Enhanced Selective Hyperthermia" also known as photodynamic therapy, is a procedure which is still being tested in a variety of solid tumors like breast cancer and liver cancer.   It involves injecting a substance into the tumor's blood supply. Laser light is then used to activate the substance and generate heat which kills the cancer cells. Clinical studies done to test the effectiveness of this treatment have shown it to have a huge potential as an alternative to surgery in treating cancer.  However, it remains a localized form of treatment.  Cancer which has already spread to the lymph nodes or to other body organs cannot be adequately treated by this procedure. Chemotherapy still needs to be done for these more advanced stages of cancer.
