Hi,
The color of the normal palate is whitish , so there is nothing to worry about especially since you are 18.
The reddish color is probably a mild inflammation brought on by the hot food/drink that I presume caused the burn in the mouth.
You could apply Glycerine on the red area. it will help in faster healing.
Apart from this no medication is required. If for some reason you are unsure about letting it go, then by all means have it examined physically by an ENT doctor.

See a Dr.  If you are ever concerned for your health, see a Dr... don't wait.  Might just be 'blistered' if you burned it really bad.  Get it checked out.  Good luck!  :)
