Pathology Report

had lumpectomy and re-excsion final pathology report reads"left breast lumpectomy- fibrocystic changes including focal ductal hyperplasia without atypia, apocrine metaplasia, cysts, fibrosis and focal microcalcifications changes consistent with previous biopsy site
-skin with no malignancy seen" was told my dr. that the area for consideration for 5 day mammosite was .69 and that radiologist liked 70 but he still might do it (will see radiologist after official mammosite catherer is inserted by surgeon) Is this protocol? If no malignancy is seen sholud I have radiation? Is it possible that I might be candidate for 5 day mammosite,no node involvement, etc.
What does .69 mean is it close enough for him to consider 5 day surgeon was hopeful

I would google mammosite for further information - it is still considered controversial. If there is no malignancy radiation will not be offered. Hyperplasia can be a precursor to breast cancer, so you should have regular testing.
