Possible serious issue?

Possible serious issue?

I'm twenty years old, I just finished working on a carpentry job and I've been up all night. I took a swig of milk and then went out to have a smoke, after my first puff I spit and there was blood in my spit. I put out the smoke and rushed inside and went to the mirror and I'm not positive but I believe the bleeding was coming from either my right tonsil or possibly my throat in general. I experienced no pain but I did bleed for a few more spits.

I'm kind of freaked out however I do not have medical insurance anymore so I don't know what to do but I would like any possible suggestions on what might of caused that and anything I can watch for.

Firstly do not panic, at your age it is unlikely to be anything serious. It is possible that a small blood vessel in your throat may have burst or the blood could be coming from a blood vessel in your nose that has burst. It only becomes a problem if it persists or you find you are expelling a lot of blood. Keep an eye out for any more bleeding and if it continues get it checked out. Also, try to give up the smoking. You can get patches and gum which is a lot healthier. Hope this helps.
