I had a MRI for my back and they found multiple renal hypodensities on my left kidney. Is this something I need to be concerned with. Also I have had upset stomach, bloating and bouts of diarea and constipation since the first of May.
Hi. The multiple hypodensities found on your left kidney may just be renal cysts, which can be found particularly in older people, and which are probably benign findings. However, it would probably be prudent to do a repeat renal ultrasound or CT scan (these tests would be adequate substitutes for the MRI, which is a more expensive procedure) after 4-6 months, to check if the cysts have remained stable.
