Skin cancer

by brickgirl22, Nov 01, 2007 06:46PM
My boyfriend was just told he has squamous cell carcinoma in situ (Bowen's Disease) - Could you tell that I took that off the report?  Anyone have a clue about what happens next?  It was on right foot inside of his heel.

I had MOHS surgery on my hand which was accomplished during about 4 hours. The surgeon removes the cancer and a smaller than normal surrounding tissue.  The removed area is biopsied and if all edges are cancer free the surgery ends.  If the cancer has not been completely removed further surgery is required until all the edges are cancer free. I only had one removal and was cancer free. It is important that this is caught early and treated as conditions with any cancer are likely to spread.
