Staging

The onologist says that he will do staging when my surgery is done.  What is he talking about?  Is it done at the same time as the other surgery or different?

Staging is one of the very important part while diagnosing cancer as, by this process doctors can analyse how far the tumor is increased and how far has spread anatomically and then attempt to put neccessary treatments required also, apart from this your general health and other factors like biochemical tests of your cancer cells also contributed in the treatment.

The staging is in roman numerical like from I to IV.
