Hi Dr Santos. Well, this cancerous gene I have has affected almost every relative on my mom's side. This gene usually causes colon, prostate and breast cancer. my great grandmother dies of metastastic breast cancer starting from her colon. Me and my mom take iron supplements, I have been skipping them to avoid diarrhoea. today and last nit, I have been experiencing symptoms. I looked up leukemia symptoms (acute myeloid leukemia) and almost every symptom k am relating to what I was experiencing this early morning. headaches, vomiting, dizziness, weakness...miserable. The truth is I am afraid of if I might have leukemia, I took and born supplement today, hopefully if I keep up on iron supplements, these symptoms will haze away...if they don't and my symotoms persist and get worse I will talk to my mother...my sister is noticing that I am getting tired and worn out easily...I think I may have leukemia. my sister and mother also have sinus issues. last night there was a storm. I don't know if that is the reason why I am lightheaded, dizzy, weak, nauseous, not hungry, headaches and confusion...I looked up sinusitis and I don't have any if those symptoms. I saw that these symptoms are symptoms if brain tumors also. my uncle died of liver and brain cancer. I am really confused and dizzy right now and need rest. I will keep you posted on how my symptoms are going on.
Hi,
How are you? I understand your concern about your symptoms. What initial tests were done in the past? Can you elaborate on the cancerous gene that you mentioned? Nutritional iron deficiency usually responds to iron supplementation and diet modification. However, if the symptoms persist or the blood tests still show low hemoglobin/hematocrit counts, further evaluation may need to be done to determine the underlying issue. A referral to a hematologist may also be indicated. Treatment will depend on the underlying issue. Take care and do keep us posted.
