Understanding my fathers ct scan he is 78 yrs old

They are stating the findings - There is a large left inguinal hernia with bowel
herniation present. This was present on the prior CT study and appears
similiar. Just lateral to the left inguinal hernia there is a large
mass which measures 6x4.5 cm. It has a low density center which
may be from necrosis. It has intense FDG activity in the peripheral more solid appearing
component . The SUV MAX is 32. Deep to this mass is a left inguinal lymph
nodes present which measures about 2 cm. There is a focus of hypermetabolic
activity in the mid abdomen seen on axial image 114 of the CT and
226 of the PET scan. This appears to be in bowel and is nonspecific
IMPRESSION : lateral to the left hernia is a large mass with intense hypermetabolic activity
And a low -density ceter suggesting necrosis. Findings are suggestive
Of metastic disease   Since this scan was done which has bee. 8 months
Ago , my father has lost over 30 pounds within 1 month , does not want
To eat   Is in constant pain on his groin area and now has a massive
Blood clot on his left side from his waste to his foot. I don't think this
Looks or sounds good at all but I would like to better understand how
Bad this is since my dad has keeped this from all his children did over
8 months :0( ANYTHING ANYBODY HAS WOULD BE GREAT AND
HELPFUL FOR ME TO UNDERSTAND THIS. Thank you
