Urinary symptoms/cancer worries

I am a 29 year old female, before this in what seemed like perfect health.  Mostly normal periods with one day pretty severe pain during ovulation.  About 4 weeks ago I started noticing stinging after urination and was prescribed Bactrim, which didn't work, and my pelvis right above my pubic bone started hurting intensely, to the point I couldn't sleep.  I went back to the doctor who couldn't find any evidence of infection (I had taken my last antibiotic that morning) but did find inflammation during a pelvic exam.  He said my ovaries/uterus were of normal size, my cervix looked fine, and sent some tests off which all came back negative for bacteria.  I went back for my follow up and he did find a lot of white blood cells in my urine at that point, and I told him I had used a homeopathic remedy a week before the pain started (acidopholus pill inserted in my vagina) to get rid of a yeast infection and he felt that had triggered a possible vaginal/bladder infection, he prescribed clindomycin.  My pelvic pain disappeared almost immediately but not the urethral stinging.  I have been back to the doctor twice , he's found nothing in my urine but has found white blood cells/imflammation when he did a swab around my urethral area.  He feels that I am just having general irritation in this area, triggered by the infection, and gave me a list of foods to avoid and soaps, etc.  The irritation comes and goes, I can't tell if it's gradually improving, I don't have urinary urgency, don't seem to go too frequently, and the pain seems focused only in the urethra area, sometimes while walking, sometimes with a full bladder.  I had sex yesterday with very little discomfort.  But it's coming and going is still driving me crazy.
I have read a lot about unresolved urinary issues being a vague symptom of ovarian cancer.  I have anxiety disorder and explained this to my doctor, he was very patient with me, explained why this is not cancer, and is very convinced that this is just an irritation of some sort.  I have read too many stories of women thinking they had bladder infections and then really had ovarian cancer.  I have no loss of appetite, bloating, weight gain, fatigue, etc.  I am wondering if this is something I should be exploring with a gynecologist, or if his assessment sounds reasonable and I just need to calm down.  Note:  I was diagnosed with HPV three years ago, had a biopsy with no precancerous changes, and three normal pap smears since.  My last pelvic exam was three months ago, totally normal, in addition to this doctors pelvic exam in which he felt no abnormalities.
I know I sound silly for asking these questions, but my panic/anxiety is triggered by health issues.  (My doctor is being very helpful with this issue as well.)
Thank for your time in advance.

you dont sound silly hun,i think that perhaps you should get a second opinion, urinary symptoms are no joke,i have suffered from chronic cystitis for almost 20 years now and just put up with the symptoms because i thought i was being a drama queen, well now my health has greatly suffered and i suspect its because of this but its too late for me,dont let a problem become chronic because you feel silly mentioning it,long term irritation to the urinary tract can cause inflammation and scarring so please do something about it nowXX
