VAIN3

I have just been diagnosed with VAIN3 following years of abnormal smears.

I have an appointment with an oncologist on Monday.

I am so worried - is anyone else out there dealing with this at the moment?

I have trawled the internet and understand that some of the causes are immunosuppresent drugs, plus radiation to the pelvic area.  I have had both of these, having had a bone marrow transplant several years ago.

I can't believe that this is happening to me again!!

I would love to hear from anyone else who is going through this.

Right now i'am going through it, and i do understand you, i'm having my ovaries removed on 12/01/10, all i can say is hang in there, this too shall pass.

I have just been diagnosed with VaIN1 after 3 years of abnormal Pap tests. I had Endometreosis on my right ovary and a cyst - I had to have an emergency hysterectomy in May of this year. My right ovary, uterus and cervix were removed. My doctor just took a biospy off the cervical scar tissue in early October and the tests came back with VaIN. He stated that I would just come in for a coloscopy every year. I would almost rather it was 3 so that it would be treated instead of this waiting game. Should I get a second opinion?
