Very unsure

Ok 2 years ago in Dec.  I had my appendix taken out and they found a carcindoid tumor in it.  So then I had another surgery where they took out some of my intestines to make sure they got all the surrounding cells to make sure they got it all. ( IT WASN'T CANCEROUS YET)  I have been fine, no side effects, to the surgery at all.  But here recently, and this may not be related, my right lower side has been hurting me off and on along with having a temperture of around 101.  But the temperture will only last a day maybe two then go away and then my side pain will lessen and dissapear.  The pain is a sharp pain and hurts more if I move around or if  I push on it.   I went to my regular doctor and he told me to have an x-ray so I did and it came back normal.  This has happened to me twice in the last month.  I am scared it might be cancer, but then again it could be nothing big right?

Your symptoms clearly point towards an infection in the intestine as it is accompanied by fever and it subsides after the infection subsides.
As your X-ray is normal you can go for a scan if you want.

Most carcinoids are asymptomatic through the natural lifetime and are discovered only upon surgery for unrelated reasons; these are called coincidental carcinoids. But all carcinoids are considered to have malignant potential.
Flushing , Diarrhea , Wheezing , Abdominal cramping and swelling of legs and feet.

While the spreading potential of a coincidental carcinoid is probably low, the current recommendation is for follow up in 3 months with CT or MRI scans.
