My Husband is a very bad alchololic, chroci, the past months in 6 ,monts he had a severe cough that wouldn,t go away finally we made him see a doctor he has been hospitalized many times for drinking and still won,t stop he has to now, his lungs our filling up with water and the doctor found two spots on his liver he said he could do a ultrasound, but he didn,t think it would change anything, he gave him med where if he drinks he gets sick, hes been doing ok, with it we our treating him at home, hes totally yellow, how can liver cancer be treated they can,t do chemo till alcohol is out of the system , if they can do chemo the doc could not say if it is cancer or nor,not his father died from the same thing, how far away from death stages of cancer is he i know only god knows that but our we treating him right way,
The doctor has given him Disulfiram a drug which will make your husband stop alcohol, as after taking this drug he will get lots of side effects if he drinks alcohol.
As you already know that alcoholism will lead to cirrhosis of liver, jaundice(body yellow) and may also get liver cancer.
The clinician is first trying to stop him from alcohol. You family has to support him to quit alcohol and you have to give him psychiatric counseling also near a professional psychiatrist. Take him to a deaddiction centre if required as this is dangerous!
You also have to side by side do a scan and diagnose what has happened to his liver till now and what would be the prognosis if he stops alcohol and discuss with your husband.
