What could it be?

Hi,
Below, I will write a diary, I wondered if someone can tell me what to expect [what might be wrong with me?].  I am 31 m, overweight and fairly inactive.  Take 100 mg Atenonol and I think 25 mg Simvastatin, for high blood pressure and high cholesterol:

DAY 1 --  blood on stool [bright red in large areas]
DAY 2 -- constipated, blood on stool.
DAY 3 -- constipated blood on stool.
DAY 4 --  not really constipated... blood and maybe mucous or pus on stool.
DAY 5 --  diarrhea, unknown if blood on stool, but did show undigested foods..
DAY 6 --  no movements, though often I feel like I need to pass a stool, but I don't.
DAY 7 --  I had some right hip pain that spread to my back and front when I coughed.
My back is still sore, the pain can be on either side, either  lower back or slightly higher up.  Sometimes the pain can be like a dull ball, or it can be like a nerve [which is really sore] or it can be in the middle of my lower back.  I did notice the pain can go down the middle of the back of my leg [or I think, sometimes down one side], depending on how I sleep, or other times, it can be on either side of my bum.  Zapain often helps.  I take it if I have to go to work.  I have used approximately 60 Zapain tablets in just under 4 weeks, only 2 of which were yesterday, the only ones this week.
All week, I've had a painful pinkie finger and the finger next to it, I believe it feels rheumatic-like.  It hurts more when I close my fingers... often it feels like I am recovering after having my fingers whacked on the top, across the knuckles by a Steele rod.

[N.B DAY 7, I SAW THE DOCTOR, AND HE HAS REFERED ME TO 'SPEAK' TO A SURGION IN 1 MONTHS TIME IN VIEW TO HAVE A COLONOSCOPY OR SOMETHING]

DAY 8 -- strange green stool... no change to diet... the only green food eaten is apples.
DAY 9 --  hard to explain the colour... yellowy, pale
Visits to defecated are frequents and of different textures and ^^^ differing colours.  I also often feel the need to go, even when their is nothing there UNLIKE a constipated feeling.  Their is almost always an uncomfortable 'hot' feeling near the passage and I think a lot higher-up.

DAY 10 --  I'm not sure if the stool is yellow or green.
DAY 11 --  No movements whatsoever.
DAY 12 --  Stools seems to be brown again.
DAY 13 --  Slightly constipated, one stool was half hard, dark in colour, and the other half was very light brown, and soft.
DAY 14 --  Stool is flat, mostly soft, but hard in places.
DAY 15 No movements, though I wanted to.

Weeks before day 1 above, I did complain about only mucus coming out, i.e it was just clear watery, and before that, I had slight bleeding on the outside of the anus, I hoped it would go away, and it did.  Years before that, I had a fistula that was operated on.
On day 7 above, the Doctor ruled-out hemorrhoids.

I'm pretty sure that it's not colitis.

It's the 'bottom' of things that worry me, but I am calm thank you.  :)

Thank you also for the reply, I'm glad to see at least one person has read this.  O:-)

I read somewhere that a person under 40 with the symptoms of colon cancer has less chance of having it than a person over 40 (maybe it was 50 even) with no symptoms.

There are lots of things this could be other than cancer but it is good you are getting it checked out further. Someone I know had similar symptoms (but much worse in that they were pretty sick) and it was colitis or something.

It still could be nothing much, a bug or something that is taking a while to settle down. Of course it could be serious too, so great that you are following through.

Good luck and try to stay calm until you get to the bottom of things.

What I want to know is... do my symptoms sound like Colon Cancer?  If someone tells me 'yes' I won't be upset, I'd just rather be 'prepared' sooner than later.

DAY 16continued --  I did manage a small amount of stool, but it was flat again, and I am sure that I could see just a tiny thin layer of blood on some of it.

DAY 16 -- I'm still unable to pass a stool, and have felt very bloated, but was eventually able to pass gas.  I have been unable to sleep.

... oh, finally, I am prepared to hear the worst, so don't feel like holding back on suspicions, and I am willing to accept, it's probably next to nothing.  I know what anyone says will be just guess-work until I get some hard evidence from the hospitals... whenever that may be.

I don't know if it matters, but when I was being checked for High Blood pressure, I was told I had 'a slight strain on the Kidneys' ultrasounds, x-ray scan and cystoscopy were clear.  I am due a kidney biopsy, but I was told of that weeks ago and never heard anything back from the Doctor.
I do have unexplained blood in the urine, though when I had my fistula, I did have an episode a couple of years ago when my urine was bright red.  I really would appreciate any facts OR thoughts from anyone on the matter.  Not knowing and not having anything to guess from is quite stressful.  I tend to keep myself to myself and have no one to confide in on the matter.
