What else do I do?

What else do I do?

About 9 months ago I noticed a large hard mass just above my right clavicle and slightly in my neck.  I have not had any injuries that would indicate it was a break in the bone, nor is there any pain. I went to my General Practitioner who recommended an ultrasound and a blood smear.  The blood smear indicated I had an elevated WBC and platelets.  The ultrasound showed a mass in the right supraclavicular region.  They recommended a CT scan.  I had a CT scan but there was no evidence of the mass (even though the doctors could feel it).  My GP told me to come back in 2 months if it did not go away.  It did not, so I went back to my GP.  He then sent me to a surgeon for a biopsy.  The surgeon decided to do an MRI which did not show anything again.  He then decided to do an angiogram because he thought he could feel a pulse.  The angiogram came up clear and he felt that there was no need to do a biopsy.  I was told that I could wait 6 months and go back or go to an ENT.  Because I still felt there was something wrong, I was referred to a ENT.  The ENT spoke with me for a couple of minutes, felt the mass and told me that it was a sore muscle and that I needed to get a good massage.  I did that, but it is still there.  I am extremely tired all of the time and there is a general lack of energy, which seems to be getting worse.  I have constant headaches and I have lost my appetite completely.  I don't know what else to do.  Do I fight my doctor?  Is there someone else I should see?  Am I being a worrier when there is nothing to worry about?

I would go back to the ENT and insist on a biopsy. If they will not do it, find another ENT.  And if the new one won't do it, then find another one. It is your body and you deserve to have the answer that a biopsy would provide.
