I have been having chronic hip and lower back pain for going on 2 years. My symptoms started with hip pain on my left hip. It hurt to push on it and I had sporadic sharp pains. It then spread to my right hip, along with the same symptoms. The sharp pains have since increased and my bones on both sides of my hips and pelvis hurt really bad when gently pushed on. Its kind of an eerrie feeling when I push on them. I then began having syptoms of sciatica within this last year on my left side. Also within this past year I have had pain in my right groin and a loss of bladder function such as when i sneeze, cough or vomit. However this past week I had a bout with my sciatica and it was so excruciating that everytime I had that sharp pain it literally took my legs right out from under me and I was litterally paralyzed with pain for about a min.
I finally got decent health insurance just this past October and have just started going to the doctors to be diagnosed and treated. I have seen my regular physician, he took xrays didn't see anything out the ordinary except for a bone spur protruding out of my right hip joint, so he referred me to orthopedics. I went there and was told maybe it was bursitis so they gave me hip injections (that sucked) and that didn't work. So now I will be starting physical therapy and I have to wait until April before the spine specialist can see me, but in the meantime I am in agony with lower back, hip, & pelvic pain and severe pain when my sciatica acts ups.
I was just wondering if there is anyone out there who has or is experiencing the same symptoms that I have and maybe somebody has some sort of diagnosis and treatment that they wouldn't mind sharing with me. Any information or advice would be greatly appreciated.
