adenocarcinoma of colon cancer

by asawari1209, Sep 24, 2009 10:29AM
my dad (51) was diagnosed with adenocarcinoma of colon cancer.it had further spread to lung cancer proving a k-ras mutation.he was given 12 rounds of  chemotherapy [folfox + avastin]. his CEA level before operation last year was 17.before chemo in nov it was 7.in march09 even after 6 cycles the PET report was clear with CEA level 3.in july09 just after last chemo it was 4.according to doctor's suggestion we did PET this month that is sep09 which suggests-
siginificant progression of the disease process.
no obvious lesions seen on the anastomatic site.
however enlarged rightexternal iliac, paracaval and aorta caval nodes are detected
multiple metastatic nodules are seen in the lung parenchyma
enlarged left internal mammary nodes are also seen.

even the CEA levels are high-23.33.what do you suggest further?our doc is out for few days.what can u suggest?what do these results exactly say?
