biopsy question breast

I was supposed to have a stereo biopsy today for architectural distortion, but DR unable to get to the site, so sending me for MRI 7 days after my next period, does this sound logical? and does an MRI confirm cancer, and will I stll need biopsy?

Thanks so much for you interest. I had my MRI on wed. The radiologist called me Wednesday night, saying I now needed MRI guided biopsy's, the contrast didn't light up as  quick and as bright as she expected, but apparently it did light up. She mentioned if not cancer, it could be a radial scar, which sometimes hide the cancer inside. Does this make any sense to you?? I am so confused. Thanks again

Hi,
Were you able to have the MRI done? Imaging studies may be indicated if there is difficulty getting to the site. Biopsy is still needed to get cell samples and to rule out malignancy.  Take care and do keep us posted with your MRI result.
