bone scan

I am 6 months out from radiation, chemo, double mastectomy and had a bone scan which came back positive for cancer in the 11 rib. I had blood tests and the markers were good and it showed no breast cancer cells. I also had x-rays of the rib and the bone scan was compared with the one I had a year ago. Which one is right? Do I need a pet scan? Does this mean I have stage 4 breast cancer?

That's what I though after reading your post.  Try to get a PET scan asap.

I would consider the bone scan the most accurate.  Cancer detected in a rib/bone is NOT good.  You might want to discuss with your Oncologist about getting a PET scan for a final confirmation.

What is your staging:  IIIA, IIIB?

The bone scan, x-rays and blood tests were all done recently.

Confused.  The bone scan was done recently?  The x-rays of the ribs were done last year?
The "blood tests and markers" were done when?

Secondly, I would take a bone scan reading over an x-ray reading.
