My mum sadly died from cancer of the esophagus after many years of taking anti acid meds i too suffer with acid reflux and take medication what are the chances of me getting cancer of the esophagus

Hi Ellro, the chances depend on what you do about your problem now.  Why do you have the reflux, is it diet?  Excess stomach acid to start with?  My dad actually had problems with too much acid, he used to vomit pure bile until he found a wonderful surgeon that specialized in stomach disorders and they re-routed his stomach tube to his intestine and it totally stopped the acid problem but since he had less acid he wasn't able to digest some foods like lettuce, cabbage, ect.
