elevated white cell count

elevated white cell count

Hello,
If a blood test indicates that a patient's white cell count is elevated, is there some type of nutrition, vitamin supplements, lifestyle change --anything--that you recommend to the patient to bring the white cell count back to normal and to prevent it from getting worse? Exactly what DO you recomend to the patient?
Thank you for your answer!

Hi.  An elevated white cell count could mean a lot of things.  It usually indicates the presence of an ongoing infection or inflammation.  The white cell count can also increase because of some drugs you're taking, like steroids.  Elevated counts can also mean the presence of malignancy in the blood (e.g. leukemia).  What I recommend is for you to have a check-up with your doctor first, to see what's actually causing your white cell counts to rise.  If it's just due to an infection, then taking the proper antibiotics should lead to a return of those counts to normal.

Thank you for your answer. Unfortunately, I have been diagnosed with CLL. Still waiting on what kind/cells. (I don't understand all this yet.) I have gotten no information whatsoever about what I can personally do during Watch and Wait, other than to avoid infections. If you know of anything in my diet or vitamins I should be taking or not taking, I would appreciate it. Thank you for your kindness and consideration in answering the health forum questions!
