I am currently undergoing chemo treatment for Lymphoma. I have 4 tumors they are trying to get rid of in my chest and addomen area. We were thinking about taking a long weekend trip, but I have been told not to fly because it could cause the tumors to grow or start new tumors. Is this true and what is the reasoning behind it with regard to hemoglobinHba1c Hemoglobin Hemoglobin derivatives Hemoglobin electrophoresis Rbc indices Sickle cell anemia and other blood counts?
The chemo drugs have lots of side effects and also in any emergency you will not have your treating doctors near you.
You have to follow your oncologist and please do not travel till you complete you treatment.
Sometimes you may have no problem but why do you want to take a risk?
Take care!
