You are most likely fighting an infection and it has only been 3 days.  if it is still there in 3 weeks than go to the doctor. are you having any teeth problems or colds etc  i have enlarged nodes that ive had biopsied they were benign but my hemotoligst said sometimes people have a little bit larger lymph nodes its their normalcy.

Hi.
Do you have other symptoms aside from pain?
The lump on the left side of your neck could be an enlarged lymph node.  Most of the time, enlargement of the lymph node is caused by an infection near the area draining to that involved lymph node.  However, there are other disease conditions that can cause enlargement of lymph nodes.  Lymphoma and metastatic carcinoma from a primary site are examples.
You should see your doctor for proper evaluation and management.
Good luck.
