hyperechoic lesions

I recently went in for an ultrasound for abdominal pain and found out I have a gallstone.  While they were searching for the gallstone, they mentioned that I have several hyperechoic lesions on my liver.  The biggest being 1.5 cm.  He went on to suggest that they may represent hemangiomata, but that I should have a CT scan to be safe.  All my liver blook work was normal.  Is it normal to find these on my liver and should I be worried that they are cancer?  Thanks
