liver cysts and enlarged pancreatic duct

I was recently diagnosed with liver cysts and an enlarged pancreatic duct through ultrasound. I am waiting to get a ct scan.
I have upper right pain (like a dull ache) in my abdomen just below my right rib cage which radiates to my back. Don't think I have any other symptoms. The pain seems to be getting stronger over time.
I am worried this could be cancer and the wait for the ct scan is very hard.
Is there anyone that has had the same symptoms and ultrasound findings?

Hi:
I did not have gallstones...but gallstoes will definetly cause pain.
So,  I don't know why they didn't tell you that to bring you some comfort.
Everytime there is a mass...of any sought...they rule out cancer. The fact she thinks they are cysts....is a good thing..and in my experience....alot of people have cysts...in liver and lungs.

Thank you for your reply.
I was wondering if you also had gallstones. They Drs told me that when someone has cysts on the liver, they almost always have gallstones too.
And did you have any pain in your upper right abdomen? They also told me that there is no pain with liver cysts. The dr said she wants me to go for a ct to rule out cancer

This is a scary thing.   I'm sorry that you have to wait.
I did have liver cysts that turned out to be just liver cysts...mine were not interferring with anything else.  Stay positive, they said they were cysts...I don't think they would have said they were anything if they were not sure about cancer.  Go with the thought process that they are cysts...and worst case...they may have to treat them so that they stop interfering with the other parts of your body (pancreas)
