Hi, Can someone explain what this means: Solitary sub centimeter right sided mesorectal lymph node seen as well as bilateral borderline inguinal nodes with preservation of normal node architecture in keeping with reactive nodes. Also, impression of slight mural thickening of the rectum.
How are you? Lymph node enlargement is usually attributed to common sign of infectious ( both acute and chronic), autoimmune, or malignant disease.
Reactive lymph nodes produce antibodies that help fight the underlying disease. Factors such as the symptoms, results of physical examination, as well as the result of other diagnostic tests are important considerations also. It is best that you discuss this with your doctor for proper evaluation. Take care and do keep us posted.
