more info on vulvar cancer

I just thought of something else which I have been worried about since this diagnosis, and have not been able to get an answer from any of  my dr's.  Two years ago, I was diagnosed with Addison's disease with the result being that my adrenal glands are not producing any growth hormone, nor steroids.  I have been on .06 ml of somotropin (human growth hormone) since the diagnosis and 30 mg of Cortef daily.  I have read that growth hormone can possibly cause cancer to spread faster and further than it normally would.  My dr. told me that she would look this up, but that was a month ago and I haven't heard from her yet.  Thank you, Malinda Jones.

Hi.  There is an association between increased levels of growth hormone (GH) and colon, breast and prostate cancers. It should be noted that studies establishing "association" do not determine causality. This means that increased levels of GH tend to be found in people with colon, breast and prostate cancers.  It does not necessarily indicate that high GH levels caused those cancers.  Surveillance studies of children and adults treated with growth hormone do not seem to show any increase in cancer incidence.  So, basically, at this point, we still don't know for certain if GH indeed causes or promotes cancer.  There's still no definite evidence.
