nasal surgery

I am scheduled to see an ENT surgeon in 2 weeks. I thought that the nasal bleeding was from sneezing repeatedly and forcefully; or the regular use of ibuprofen or aleve and wine which thin the blood; or dry mucous membranes. My primary doc found what looks like a pimple (or a very small hole after it bleeds) inside my nose just beyond the hair. I can see it now and must be gentle when cleaning with a tissue or it will trickle blood.I will probably need surgery and am expecting it to be cancerous. Did anyone have similar symptoms and how were you treated?
I've read about many things that cause nasal bleeding but they differ from my case. Thank-you. Ivra

Hi,

How are you?

The ENT specialist may order some tests like CT scan, an X ray of sinuses, and a chest X ray. He may do a biopsy to confirm that the growth is cancerous.
Once the disease is found and staged the course of treatment will be decided which may include surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
Surgery is an important part of treatment and usually a wide local excision is done. If a part of the nose has been removed a cosmetic prosthesis is usually used to rebuild the nose.
Do let me know if you need more information. Keep us posted!
