numbness

My brother-in-law was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer around 10/08. yesterday his arm and hand became numb and he lost the use of it. He was taken to the e.r. immediately . His ct. scan came back normal. He did have swelling in his ankles several days ago and was put on a diuretic. He looks fine , has no other signs of stroke. any ideas?

I had N.H. Lymphoma. It was in the Nasal Pharnyx area. I know both Cancers are not similar. I had head and neck radiation. 6-12 months I developed I had numbness in my right hand and arm. It took a while, but a Vascular Surgeon found out my Subclavical Artery had collapsed from the Radiation. I had to have a Bypass done to correct the problem. If I hadn't pushed my family doctor I could have lost my arm. There were times when my fingers would turn blue. A Ultrasound of his main Arteries would be a good thing to have done. I am not a doctor. Tell your brother my prayers are with him, and you.
