oral cancer tobacco use

i have used copenhagen chewing tobacco for about 6 months. its actually a little less than 6 months probably around 3 or 4 months but im just rounding it off to 6 months. i quit now because i found out it can cause oral cancer. i asked a doctor if i could get cancer from 6 months of that and she said its not likely. i was wondering what are my chances of getting cancer after using tobacco for just 6 months? and also now that i quit how long would it take for my increased risk of cancer to decrease and go back to normal?
