pHPT, Transitional cell carcinoma

My Mom had bladder cancer and what I believe was transitional cell carcinoma as it traveled up the ureter and affected a kidney. She lived for 20 years without a bladder and with one kidney.   She died a few years ago from brain cancer.  I do not know much about her medical history as that generation, it seems, liked to keep secrets! I always felt she was depressed and now that I have developed high ionized calcium and other symptoms of primary hyperparathyroidism, I am wondering if maybe she suffered from this as well.  I also seem to be suffering from polyuria (24hr measure was 3500ml). My ionized calcium has been 1.35, 1.41 and 1.42 (1.17-1.32).  My GP says it is not high enough to worry about. I would like to know if there is any known relationship between pHPT and transitional cell carcinoma.  Is there anything in particular I should watch for as my GP has basically washed her hands of me!
