thromboytopenia and lukemia

I am a 27 year old female. While pregnant with my first child I was diagnosed with thrombocytopenia. I was told it would go away after I was not pregnant which it never did. With no health insurance I skipped a scheduled bone marrow biopsy after my platelet counts continuously stayed under 75,000. Recently I have noticed a lot of excess bruising (very large painful unexplained bruises), I have been extremely tired, and just got over a swollen lymph node in my neck. I am constantly sick with a cold or pneumonia. I lost a grandmother from my father's side to lukemia a few years ago and am kinda worried. But do not have insurance and don't want to seem like a hypochondriac to a doctor. Can anyone give me some advice or share their experiences with these diseases with me. It will be much appreciated.
Thank you

Go to your doctor and ask for an FBC and get your bone marrow biopsy re scheduled.
I wasn't  pregnant and i'm not an expert but your symptoms sound familiar.
Your  prob just run down from your pregnancy etc.
I was diagnosed with cml and they put me on gleevec 400mgs/day.
Am in good form and doing loads i wouldn't have had the courage to do before diagnosis.
Good luck and God Bless.
