tiny lump on the back of neck

tiny lump on the back of neck

i found a tiny lump on the right side of the back of my neck. it is just below the hair line about an inch away from spine. it is going on 2 weeks and no change. doctor said could be a lymph node but was not really in the location of were lymph nodes are. she said either a lymph node or a cyst. she said don't touch it and check on it in a couple of weeks. should i go back to the doctor. i worry alot. should this be somrthing to be concerned about. my mother has in formed me that her brother and sister had lymphoma, as well as her sisters daughter.

I had a lump in the exact same location for years. It was just a cyst that I chose to ignore until a couple of years ago. I had a dermatologist remove it after another cyst I had in my back abscessed and became very painful. I didn't want to risk another experience like that so I had the cyst in my neck removed. If it doesn't grow or change you probably have nothing to worry about it, but if you want it removed you may want to see a dermatologist. They will send the tissue to a lab to make sure it's not cancerous. Hope this helps. Good luck and take care.

Ive got 4 lumps in my neck, 2 either side, i got really worried, because like you im a worrier and tend to think the worst. Mine were just nodules, lymph nodes that had swollen and in my case they have never gone, but i saw docs several times, and a few of them and they all said it was nothing so ive forgotten about them now.
Do you feel any different at all, is it painful?
