upper abdomen pain near liver

by yorli, Mar 24, 2007 12:00AM
3 months ago I had a ct scan of my liver.
this showed two small lesions which appeared to be haemangiomatas.
last week I had another ct scan which showed 2 focal hypodense transiently enhancing lesions in the subcapsular positions.the lesions measure 6.6mm and 2.1x1.8cms.the liver does not appear to be cirrhotic.the diagonosis was between multifocal hcc or multiple hepatic adenomata.would this indicate cancer and what treatment would be done.

             thanks yorli

HCC versus adenomata are both concerning lesions that you should receive follow up instructions for further diagnosis & therapy.  HCC typically is short for hepatocellular carcinoma, but your own physician could accurately decipher that acronym in the case of your radiologist.
