urologic

I'm a 46 yr old female, have had micrscopic blood in my urine for 17 yrs, found this out by reviewing my medical records closely.  My gyn told me to see a urologist after taking a urine sample and finding blood, microscopic.  I finally got around to seeing someone.  The doc was able to tell me that the blood was in my urine that comes directly from my bladder.  I'm scheduled for a cystoscropy and renal CT scan.  It just happens that at the time I'm see the urologist I'm getting over a urinary tract infection that must have gone up to my kidneys, I was sick for about 2 weeks or so and went to see my doc who prescribed an antibiotic.  What is the possibility that I have cancer since I've had blood in my urine all this time without any other symptoms?   I've had urinary tract infections on and off over the years, but not many.

I am a 29 year old female.  I recently had microscopic blood in my urine and I had a the cytoscope, a ct scan and a urine cytology.  All came back negative.  I think that if you had cancer all of this time, you would have been very sick by now and definately be showing other signs.  Cancer grows and progresses, it does not stay the same.  My urologist said that some people are just born with a sort of kidney disorder that allows a microscopic amount of blood to pass into the urine.  This disorder is benign.  Of course, such a diagnosis would be one of exclusion.  Anyone with blood in the urine should consult with their doc.
