How are you? A high white blood cell count suggests an increased production of white blood cells to fight an infection, a disease of bone marrow, or immune system disorders. Further evaluation and diagnostic tests may need to be done to rule out infection, leukemia, allergy, or medication side effects. A lymph node biopsy or surgery may also be done to determine the underlying cause. Factors such as the symptoms present, medical history and results of other tests are important considerations also .
