fibrocalcific opacity in lung base and fibrocalcified opacity in medial segment of right middle lobe is found in PET CT. Does it mean cancer.
Hi there!
‘Fibrocalcific opacities’ means that there is a mass or region of increased fibrosis within the tissue involved, with calcium deposition. The pattern of calcium deposition may provide a hint towards the aetiology being benign or malignant; though this would require further investigation to come to a conclusive diagnosis.
Hope this information helps.
Take care!
