Trivial tricuspid, mitral, pulmonary regurgitation

Dear Doc

I had a triple bypass 7 weeks ago. Last week, I underwent an echocardiogram. I just received the echocardiogram report. All the valves and chambers are normal. However, I am concerned about results from the doppler/color flow mapping. The results show that I have:

Trivial tricuspid regurgitation
Trivial mitral regurgitation
Trivial pulmonary regurgitation
No aortic regurgitation

I am not sure if the trivial regurgitation is the result of my bypass. Are there ways to stop the regurgitation?

Thank you

congratulations on undergoing major surgery uneventfully.
It would be hard to opine about the significance of your echo findings without some study to compare to before surgery. I suspect that it was likely present before. Trivial suggests that it is clinically insignificant. There is no way to alter the process however your revascularization should prevent progression of any valvular disease. Confer with your cardiologist to see how these findings compare with a preop study. Thanks
