Personal Care Attendant question?

by geckopaws, Nov 08, 2009 01:18AM
Ok so my question is I just filled out the application for Medicaid to pay for a personal care attendant in my home.  And I was wondering how long this usually takes because I need one ASAP and I am having surgery next week won't be able to walk, take a bath, prepare meals or drive basically.  So I was wondering how long it takes usually?  I'm a physically and mentally disabled individual.

Sorry Geckopaws, I don't know how long it will take. Notoriously government is slow. However in your case I would guess that you will have your answer before you have to undergo surgery.

In terms of approving Medicare for home care for my father it was a done deal in 24 hours. I hope it will be the quick for you.

Best of luck to you,
Tuck

Hi, did they assign you a caseworker?  You could talk to them and tell your situation and maybe they will try to speed up the process.
