Adopted Kitty

I just adopted a kitty On valentines day that was due to be Euthanized. Not only did i save her life, but she was adopted on her first birthday. Sprinkles is now 1 year and 2 days old. She was spayed on 2/14 as well. I have never delt with a cat, let alone a cat that has just been spayed. I have NO CLUE how to take care of her in this time. Its hard to say if there is change in her behavior because im not really sure how her behavior was before me. But she seems like shes in pain. She hasnt eaten or drank anything  AT ALL since i brought her home. I have her in the restroom and i leave the door open to see if she will wounder around but she stays in the same two places the entire time (Behind my toilet or in her bed). Also, they gave me 4 different medicines for her and the first time i gave them to her she threw them up. Should i take her to a vet? Im not sure if her behavior is normal or if i should be really worried..... PLEASE HELP :/

bless you for giving this little girl a chance....but yes do take her back to the Vet for an examination, she could just be very frightened of all the newness of her new home and surgery etc. but she should be seen to rule out anything else.....and she CANNOT GO this long without eating or drinking...do you have a food and water bowl nearby where she is hiding? that way if she is afraid to wander out she can still eat and drink...make sure there is a litter box there too.
Are you offering her the same food she's used to getting?

What medicines were you given? and for what? it is very important that you know this information.
You cannot continue to give her something if it makes her ill....the vet must be made aware of this too.
Please take her back to the Vet asap. If its just a matter of her being afraid you need to find this out....and that can be dealt with by alot of patience and love...but first of all SHE MUST EAT.
there shouldn't be any charge for a follow up appointment after a surgery....

if she won't eat on her own, get the Vet to show you how to assist feed her and right now!! or she'll become really sick and quickly too.

best of luck to you and dear Sprinkles....calm down, start with a Vet visit asap...and put food near her hiding place right now.
let us know how things go, got my fingers crossed for her♥

I agree with opus get her to eat something , have you any chicken bits, any dried food she may like my Tweety eats both ..Reading your post I think she is alone too much and you have to interact with her, goodness knows how she has been treated it takes time , so dont just leave a door open talk quietly to her , gently push food towards her , its a matter of patience . she is afraid .

are you feeding her the same food as she was getting at the shelter? the same stuff she is used to or are you trying something new? keep trying anything that will get her to eat....chicken broth is ok but its only fluids she has to eat protein too...get some different can cat foods or even people foods such as tuna, salmon anything right now...you have GOT TO GET HER TO EAT. if this doesn't work you will need to take her back to the Vet by tomorrow for sure...
hard to say whether she is just scared or not liking the food OR is she ill?
so start with leaving different foods for her tonight...she MUST eat by tonight or she will be seriously ill. if she eats something great....than a Vet is likely not needed b/c perhaps she just isn't liking the food you have left her but please if she won't be tempted to eat when you offer her canned food or human food than something is reallly wrong and you must get her back to a Vet by tomorrow♥

Im not sure what the medication is for. I believe one of them is an antibiotic, and one of them is a dewormer. But the other two im not exactly sure. I do have a pinch of food in a dish that she hasnt touched at all. The same for the water. Also, i was noticing last night that she walks up to the food and pushes it around with her nose. Could it be that she just doesnt feel like having that food? It almost seemed like she was starving but for some reason could not eat. I read online that some people try giving their cats chicken broth. Do you think that would be a good idea? Im hesitant to take her back to the vet, its through SEAACA, and im not too comfortable with their services. But ofcourse if i must, i will take her back.
