WOW Pip! She's doing great! I know it's been a long time since I've been around - but I smiled when I read your post! WOOT!!!!!
Hugs!!!!
GOOD for Teia!!!!...............she is finally deciding this is her territory and doesn't like the appearances of an intruder....she is tolerating Peake but respects his claim in the 'safe zone' too....my boys are very much the same!! :-)
Miss Teia still runs for cover, after hissing, when Chesapeake comes by, eve though Peake has gotten the idea that the "brick through a window" approach won't work...
However, I was sleeping on the spare bed, Teia having joined me for awhile and was woken up about 2:00 AM by this really strange noise, a throaty "bark-yowl."
Miss Teia was at the window and I saw a cat crossing the front lawn. The window was cracked open a little, as the night air was pleasant. Seems like Miss Teia was warning off an outsider, and standing her ground. =)
Wooohooo,
and WOW I thoughht my cat was big and he is still growing hha...
Thats really good news. :)

She's beautiful! She's made so much progress-you both must be so happy! Good for you both!!
Poor kitty. I am so happy she is with a great family. She is definitely coming around Pip. Keep us posted!!
You and Miss Teia Honey are making me smile!
Congratulations, Pip! Thanks to you and your loving care she has come a long way indeed ♥
Hi Pip, congrats on the additional progress and thanks for sharing. I love Teia's story. I remember the whole thing :)
Miss Teia came to stay with us on Tuesday June 2, 2009 at about age 10 1/2.
I stayed in the car (with all windows open and sunshades up) talking to her (in her carrier, which had the door open) while my wife was attending her meeting with the other women, all veterans of US Service.
I had put food and water in the front of the carrier, but Teia was decidedly unsettled by all of what had happened: her people being at each other, losing her home, strangers, car rides...and at the end of the day, a house full of strange smells, OMG, OTHER cats!!!
For the first few days she hid behind the commode in our master bath.
Then she found her way to the spare bedroom, where she was in her "bunker" (the space under the headboard) most of the time for a few months...and thus we have "Teia's Room." ;-)
Things have progressed markedly.
Pip,
Great progress! And she is so pretty!!
How long have you had her now?
