BATHING

Well just another one of my questions....Oliver hates water(as do most cats, i know hahaha) but gets dirty all the time...So i've washed him 3 times out of his 9 months life hahaha....Is it ok? Is it ok for me to keep bathing him....I mean i've read that cats can actually get offended, because they wash themselves, and that way your pretty much telling them they dont do a good job....Ugh i dont know...

I have had to wash my kitty approx. 3 times in her life but it's because she got into things. Once it was oil...boy that was a mess. Otherwise, I love the bathing wipes. Super easy and they really do make them smell nice. Saves your arms from scratches, too LOL.

Hi Kandy, you sooo aren't kidding.  Cats hate getting baths.  Some are more evil then others about it though-some will meow the whole time, scratch, and bite.  But, it's a good idea to start the cat young, like you're doing.  Be careful not to bathe the cat too much because their skin gets too dry.  I would bathe the cat 2 times a month at the most so she doesn't get dried out.

If you have a nutcase cat when you bathe her, there is an awesome cage that you can bathe them through.  You can get it at jefferspet.com.  I highly reccommend this company,  They have the best deals from toys, premium cat foods, flea products, and kitty supplements.  They are well worth checking out.

Luffy likes baths but i had read once that maine coons are very fond of water. (thus his evil obsession lol) So he's always good with bathtime. As for sage she's a priss and cleans herself constantly, she's only had one bath and thats when we spilt ketchup on her :p, and maple...well she's been put in the tub filled with warm water and she wasnt too fond of it but she stayed there for a minute lol. Luffy normally just cleans everyone including us LOL, he's the oldest and he acts like daddy lol.

I think baths could be bad for them but only if your sloppy about it. I fill the water to my ankle (yes i'm normally IN the tub with them) And soap up my hands with cat shampoo then i rub them gently like i do when i'm petting them. I also talk softly to them while their in the tub, Luffy's the easiest...and he awaits bathtime D: so he's normally first. But with him its just scrub then rinse then scrub with the conditioner :D then rinse. Then when i ring out his legs and tail and body for him i wrap him up and ruffle his head fur then take him in my arms like a baby into the other room. Where sometimes i put his sweater on or paint his nails pink :D

Its all with the personality.
Like savas said the pet wipes are good. When penpen and shanks were around they were bathed with those. Pretty much they lick the soap off and then their super clean and smell wonderful :D

Bathing in water isn't really good for a cat (especially with soaps). It strips their fur of the natural oils that give them a healthy coat.

A better way to go is to purchase a package of "pet wipes" from the pet store.

If you'd rather not do that, then use a damp washcloth and fine toothed comb to rub down oliver of all that mess he gets into!
