Black spots in my cat's eye

I have a 6 year old male cat, I love him with every piece of my heart and sole and would have a melt down if anything should ever happen to him, his names chuck! Any who, not so much recently but like maybe a year or two ago me and my dad noticed black spots in the yellow of his eye, they change shapes, they grow more appear. They don't bother him that is obvious but is it a form of melanoma? Hopefully someone can help i mean I'd rather look at the spots then have his eye removed they don't bother me I really just want to know what they are. the picture i attached with this you can see the black spot right under the pupil...Thanks for any help given!

My late cat, Simba, had 2 brown spots in his left eye. My vet told me they were freckles in the eye and nothing to worry about.

No clue about the eye, but he looks like my Taz.  He also has the little tie- thing going on along with being a tuxedo.  Soo cute.

What a handsome boy Chuck is!!

I would consider posting this question in the Ask A Vet General Health forum for the veterinarians there.   It's possible one of them has seen this condition before and can help explain it.
